Two fishermen were injured when an Indian LPG tanker ship allegedly hit their fishing boat off Kochi coast early today, police said.
The incident occurred at around 4 am while the fishermen from Munambam area were engaged in fishing some 18 Nautical Miles off Kochi coast, they said.
The injured fishermen have been admitted to a hospital in Paravoor near here, they said adding none of them were serious.
There were 10 fishermen on board the boat involved in the accident, police said.
All others have been brought to safety, they added.
The vessel has been identified as an Indian LPG tanker, which left the scene soon after the incident.
However, it was later identified with the help of the Coast Guard, police said.

Earlier reports quoting the fishermen said that their boat was hit by a foreign vessel.
Police said the captain and crew of the ship have been charged under various IPC sections including 280 (Rash navigation of vessel), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others).
A Navy official said they were informed about the incident that occurred some 18 nautical miles off the Kochi coast.
