The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Northern Command Lt Gen D S Hooda has expressed grief at the demise of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Lt Gen Hooda said that the contribution of Sayeed to Jammu and Kashmir through long years of public service will always be remembered.
Lt Gen Hooda conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Sayeed passed away at AIIMS hospital in Delhi yesterday, 14 days after he was admitted for severe lung infection.
He was laid to rest at a graveyard in his ancestral town of Bijbehara in Anantnag district. The state has declared seven days of mourning as a mark of respect to the leader.

Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and State Vigilance Commission expressed condolences over the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed.
President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rakesh Gupta along with his office bearers expressed heartfelt condolence on the sad demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
The President Chamber on this occasion appreciated the timely action of the PDP and unanimously reposing faith in the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti by a communication to Governor N N Vohra.
"We are very sure that with her long experience staying in politics and learning from her father as also being in touch with cross sections of society it will not take long for her to streamline and take urgent necessary measures to keep away the destructive forces from disturbing the hard earned peace in the state," he said.
