Lt Gen Singh assumes command of 16 Corps

Lieutenant General K H Singh today assumed command of the White Knight Corps (16 Corps) from Lieutenant General D S Hooda, who moves on posting after 18 months of command.

In his farewell message, Lt Gen Hooda complimented all ranks of White Knight Corps for their professionalism and dedication. He also thanked the civil administration for the excellent synergy with the Armed Forces.

Lt Gen Singh was commissioned into The Rajput Regiment in 1978 and is an Infantry soldier with vast operational experience, a defense spokesman said.

He has commanded a battalion in Siachin Glacier and a Division on the Line of Control (LoC) including prestigious staff and instructional appointments, the spokesman added.
