Lt Governor of Puducherry Lt General (retired) A K Singh today expressed grief over the death of Ajit Koujalgi, Chief Architect and co-convenor of Puducherry chapter of Indian Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage.
In his condolence message, the Lt Governor said the chief architect's contribution towards heritage conservation in Puducherry was noteworthy and was even recognised by UNESCO which had earned him many accolades.
In his demise, Puducherry had lost one of its eminent architects, the Lt Governor said.

Ajit Koujalgi (66) died yesterday at a private hospital in Chennai where he was admitted for treatment of injuries he sustained in an accidental fall from the roof of his house at Samasti community in Auroville near here a few days ago.
