Lufthansa Group will start operating the Airbus 350-900 aircraft on the Munich-Mumbai route from April 16.
Earlier this month, Lufthansa started first commercial operations of the fuel efficient A350-900 aircraft to the national capital.
From April 16 onwards, Mumbai would become the third destination worldwide to welcome the aircraft, Lufthansa said in a release today.

The Group operates 60 flights to and from India per week.
The Lufthansa A350-900 is configured with 293 seats, including 224 in the Economy Class.
Compared with similar types of aircraft, A350-900 consumes 25 per cent less fuel, produces 25 per cent fewer emissions and the noise is around 50 per cent less.
Currently, Lufthansa Group accounts for about 15 per cent market share of traffic between India and Europe.
In the Asia-Pacific region, the Lufthansa Group flies to 18 destinations in eight countries.
