Congress President Sonia Gandhi has postponed the UPA lunch scheduled for tomorrow in view of the death of Union Minister Gopinath Munde in a road accident.

Party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said the lunch programme, which was to happen on June 5 has been postponed and it will now be organised on June 10.

Sources said that the leadership felt that it will not be proper to organise the lunch programme for the MPs just a couple of days after the tragedy.

Munde had died in a road accident in the national capital yesterday.

The lunch programme to be organised for all UPA MPs in Parliament Annexe will be the first occasion where Gandhi will be meeting all of them together after their drubbing in the Lok Sabha polls.

Gandhi had yesterday chaired a meeting of UPA Coordination Committee to work out floor strategy for Parliament and also had a brief discussion on the Lok Sabha election results.
