Reversing its initial gains in the morning trade, shares of pharma major Lupin closed nearly two per cent down owing to overall negative market sentiments.
On BSE, the scrip settled at Rs 1,449, down 1.74 per cent from its previous close. It had opened at Rs 1,482.85 and touched an early high of Rs 1,487.05
Following a downtrend in the counter, the market capitalisation of the company dropped by Rs 1,120.48 crore to Rs 65,409.12 crore.

On volume front, over 7.60 lakh shares of the company were traded on the exchanges.
Shares of Lupin had opened on a positive note on bourses after it announced the launch of generic version of its voriconazole tablets and oral suspension used for treatment of fungal infection in children.
