"The state government hiked fares of buses, minibuses and taxis, but that of luxury taxis was not considered," Association Secretary Saikat Pal said.

He said responding to the chief minister's appeal the association did not take up any agitation during the Durga puja and Id-Ul-Zuha festivals, but its long-pending demands were not considered.

The Association which submitted a memorandum containing 10-point charter of demands, would go on hunger-strike from November 21 if the demands were not met.

Meanwhile, the Poolcar Owners Welfare Association Secretary Aabir Roy urged Transport minister Madan Mitra to issue new permits.

"At least one thousand applicants are waiting for approval of new permits for operating pool cars, which remain pending," Roy said.

The Transport minister, however, said that all pool cars would have to apply for permits or commercial licence within December 31, without which they would not be allowed to operate.
