Internet firm Lycos today said its deal with Yahoo for enhanced search advertising has been extended by one year.

The contract leverages its service to increase the reach of Yahoo search and content offerings, the company in a statement.

"This relationship is expected to increase its turnover by 10 per cent in 2016-2017 fiscal. It is a contract that allows Lycos to serve globally on all platforms including search, mobile and other contextual advertising," it said.

The enhanced form of search advertising is a type of contextually targeted platform which allows online search advertisers to buy keyword-targeted traffic from sources other than search engine results pages.

Lycos advertising enables businesses, agencies and online publishers worldwide to meet their digital marketing needs, and serves 40 billion impressions every month.
