M-16 Rifle among three weapons recovered in Reasi

Army today busted a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition including M-16 rifle among three weapons.

Based of specific information, the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Police recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in general area Shergari Forest in Chasana Tehsil of Reasi District, Defence Spokesman said.

The joint operation team marched in rugged terrain and seized a cache of arms and ammunition from a natural hideout, he said.

The cache includes one M-16 Rifle, one AK-47 Rifle, one AK -56 Rifle, five magazines AK 47, one magazine M-16, two Chinese grenade, five UBGL grenade, thirty pistol round, two hundred four AK-47 rounds and seventy five Pika rounds, he said.
 

The timely recovery of the cache has prevented any untoward incident in the area and thwarted the evil designs of the terrorists, he said.

Rasthriya Rifles under aegis of Uniform Force has been ensuring that the peace and tranquility in the area prevails unattended so that the terrorists are not successful in their nefarious ambitions, he said adding that the latest recovery is yet another set back to the militant design of operation.
