M C Chauhan appointed GM of North Central Railway

M C Chauhan was today appointed as General Manager of North Central Railway, Allahabad.

Chauhan, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), is at present GM of Metro Railway.

The working of railways is divided into zones. Three crucial divisions of Agra, Allahabad and Jhansi are under the NCR zone.

Rightly referred to as heartbeat of Indian Railways, North Central Railway span over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh with about 3,062 route kms of broad gauge comprising predominately, double line- electrified sections defining the sides and diagonals of the golden quadrilateral.

Besides him, S S Soin has been appointed as GM of South East Central Railway (SECR), Bilaspur, an order issued by Personnel Ministry said.
 

SECR is situated in the heartland of central India and serving the states of Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, with proud privilege. This railway zone plays a paramount role in the transportation of minerals and coals to different power plants and industrial units all over the country.

The main commodities being transported are coal, iron and steel, iron ore, cement and fertilisers.
