Under attack from various corners over the comments made by its leaders over reservation to backward classes, the RSS today distanced itself from such views including a statement by M G Vaidya purportedly favoring a review of the quota system, saying it does "not agree" with his "personal views".
It also said that such an arrangement for backward classes should continue.
While Manmohan Vaidya had yesterday kicked up a row with remarks made at the Lit Fest favouring a review of reservation policy saying even the architect of the Constitution B R Ambedkar had not favoured its continuance in perpetuity, his father and senior Sangh ideologue M G Vaidya today reportedly echoed some similar views saying the arrangement should be reviewed for certain categories.

"The statement given by Vaidya ji (M G Vaidya) in Nagpur today is his personal opinion. The RSS does not agree with it," DattatreyaHosabale, Joint General Secretary of the Rashtriya Sawayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said.
He said that "RSS' stand is clear that SC, ST and OBC should continue to get the reservation as provided by the Constitution as it is required even now and it should be fully implemented. This is the official stand of the RSS.
