IUML leader M K Muneer, representing Kozhikode south constituency, was today unanimously elected as the party's Legislature Party Leader in the state assembly.
The post was held by party's National General Secretary P K Kunhalikutty, who was elected to Lok Sabha in the bypoll in Malappuram on April 12.
The decision was taken at the parliamentary party meeting of IUML at Panakkad in Malappuram district, party General Secretary T P M Zahir said.
Howevefr, no discussion was held on the candidate for Vengaraassembly seat, lying vacant with the resignation of Kunhalikutty, he said.
