M M Hassan appointed interim Kerala PCC President

Veteran Congress leader M M Hassan was today appointed interim KPCC president. The direction in this regard was issued by AICC today. "M M Hasan, presently Vice President of KPCC, will hold the charge of President of Pradesh Congress with immediate effect till a regular PCC president is appointed," a statement from AICC said.

Hassan told reporters that he was indebted to the party for the appointment and would do his best to strengthen the Congress in kerala.

V M Sudheeran, former KPCC President, had resigned on March 10, citing health grounds after completing three years in the post.

67-year-old Sudheeran was injured after a fall in Kozhikode while attending a party function. A full-fledged President is likely to be appointed after the Malappuram Lok Sabha bypoll on April 12.
