M&M launches Arjun Novo tractor

Mahindra & Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector, a part of the USD 16.5 billion Mahindra group, today launched Arjun Novo - a new tractor platform in two variants in North India.

The 57 and 52 HP variant tractors are priced at Rs 7.30 lakh and Rs 6.99 lakh (both ex showroon Gurgaon).

"We have designed it keeping in mind the requirements of farming need of the Indian states. It can handle 40 farming applications including puddling, harvesting, reaping and haulage," M&M Farm Division Senior Vice President - Sales, Channel & Customer Care - Bhartendu Kapoor said.

Arjun Novo is loaded with features such as advance synchromesh transmission, 18 speed option including 15 forward gears and 3 reverse gears, precision hydraulic with highest pump flow.
 

It has been designed and developed at M&M's global research facility at Chennai. The company has invested around Rs 300 crore to develop the Novo platform, he added.

"Its 15 forward and 3 reverse transmission gives ideal speed for use of any implement," he added.

Moreover, keeping in mind the new generation, M&M has also introduced air-conditioned version of the tractors with glass cabins to provide comfort and reduce noise.

"The new generation wanted to have air-conditioned cabins. We have enthusiastic results, farmers from Punjab and even from states like Chhatisgarh has bought it," Kapoor added.

The air-conditioned version would cost Rs 2.50 lakh more.
