M&M shares up 3.5% on robust tractors' sales

Shares of Mahindra and Mahindra today rose 3.5 per cent after the company reported 60.88 per cent jump in total tractor sales in October.

The stock moved up by 3.54 per cent to close at Rs 1,369.35 on BSE. During the day, it jumped 4.80 per cent to Rs 1,386.

On NSE, it went up by 3.23 per cent to close at Rs 1,369.30.

The stock was the biggest gainer among the Sensex and Nifty components.

Home-grown auto major Mahindra and Mahindra today reported 60.88 per cent jump in total tractor sales at 45,177 units in October this year.

The company had sold 28,081 units in the same month last year.
 

The company's sales in domestic tractor market went up 60.65 per cent to 43,826 units in October as against 27,280 units in the year-ago month, the company said in a BSE filing.

Mahindra and Mahindra reported a 1.21 per cent increase in total sales at 52,008 units in October.
