Maasi Magam' festival celebrated in Pudu

: A large number of devotees thronged the seashore in neighbouring Vaithikuppam village to offer worship to deities from temples here and districts in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of celebration of 'Maasi Magam' festival today.

The festival occurs in the Tamil month of Maasi (February-March),synchronising with full moon day.

Idols of more than 100 temples from here and Cuddalore and Villupuram districts were installed on the shore from early morning for performing theerthavari (sprinkling of sea water).

People had a holy dip in Bay of Bengal as part of the ritual on the occasion.
