On a temporary bail to attend his daughter's wedding, Kerala-based PDP leader and Bangalore blasts accused Abdul Nasser Madani today used the venue to allege that he was being victimised and the "ray of justice is still far off" for him.

Madani's words invited strong reaction from the state unit of the BJP, which alleged that he had violated bail conditions.

Giving his Khutba-e-Nikah (wedding message), Madani also took a dig at Karnataka authorities saying his getting bail did not mean that the 'sun of justice' has risen over there.

"..I am in a tragic situation where the ray of justice is still far off," he said.

Madani, however, said he was not disappointed or sad, but took it as an opportunity for self-purification as granted by the Almighty.

Stating he was relieved that he had an opportunity to be in the ambience of Kerala from the darkness of the prison cell, Madani said he was not the only person who was being tortured in the world for standing up for justice.

Madani, who has been restrained by the court from speaking to the media while on bail, said he was grateful to Kerala society for the support extended to him.

In a sharp reaction, BJP state president V Muraleedharan said Madani's words amounted to gross violation of the bail conditions set by the Bangalore court.

He also said Kerala government owed an explanation as to why it could not anticipate such a scenario at the wedding.

When reporters sought his reaction, CPI-M veteran and state Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said the matter had to be examined by the authorities concerned.

Refuting the charge against the government, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said the court had only directed the government to provide security and make arrangements for Madani's visit and that had been done properly.

Apart from a large number of his supporters and well-wishers, several leaders of mainstream political parties including Congress, CPI-M and the Indian Union Muslim League attended the marriage held at Kottiyam in the district.

Madani, who is staying at a private medical college campus near here, will be visiting his aged father at Anwarassery near here tomorrow.
