Uttar Pradesh government today posted Madhav Prasad Verma as the new Superintendent of Police of Pratapgarh.
Verma, SP in Vigilance department Lucknow will be the new Superintendent of Police of Pratapgarh, a Home Department spokesperson here said.
The state Election Commission had on December 9 ordered immediate suspension of Pratapgarh SP, Sunil Kumar Saxena on charges of dereliction of duty during the panchayat polls.
In a letter to state chief secretary, the State Election Commission had found him along with some others guilty of failing to conduct the polls in a fair manner and also recommended disciplinary action.
