"Happy that the fashion week will celebrate the ethnic roots highlighting the weavers. I will introduce my work based on the Madhubani art of Bihar in sarees at the fashion show, blending the contemporary with the traditional and this will be

the first time Madhubani will be showcased at a fashion show," Paul said.

Celebrated designers Agnimitra Paul, Abhishek Dutta, Soumitra Mondal, Mona Pali, Bibi Russell will be showcasing their collections at the fashion week here.

The fashion show will take place from September 14 after a three-year break.

Agnimitra, who did not take part in the first edition of the event three years back, said it was a cathartic experience on her part to be able to show her product range in the city she belonged to other than in abroad or some part of the country.

Famed city-based designer Abhisek Dutta said his range will showcase the beauty and originality of natural fabrics, fibers and dyes and there will be a show-stopper in sync with the theme, a big name in show business either from Bengal film industry or even someone from Mumbai.

Event director Yudhajit Dutta said "this was the first time for any fashion show, a part of the profit will go towards helping the weavers."

An estimated 30 designers, from city, Mumbai and abroad will be showcasing their latest range at the show.
