The 54-year-old 'Girl Gone Wild' singer was scheduled to perform at the American Airlines Centre in Dallas but had to pull out when she began to have voice problems, reported Digital Spy online.
Doctors for the pop star ordered her to cancel the gig at once, advising her that she was coming down with "severe laryngitis".
A statement on her website read, "Under doctor's orders, the Material Girl has been put on 'complete vocal rest'. All tickets for the October 20th show to be refunded at the point of purchase. Tickets purchased online will be refunded directly. Madonna regrets any inconvenience to her fans."
