Israeli police have arrested the man, who allegedly hacked pop diva Madonna's computer and leaked songs from her upcoming album 'Rebel'.
27 songs from Madonna's 13th album were were leaked online last month. The 56-year-old star had then responded by releasing six songs early to mitigate the effects of a leak. She had called the hack 'a form of terrorism' and equivalent to 'artistic rape', reported Entertainment Weekly.
An official gag order has kept the 39-year-old suspect's name out of the media.
According to a statement by the cyber crime division of Lahav 433, an FBI-like organisation that made the arrest, he has been identified as a former contestant on an Israeli televised singing competition and is accused of breaking into the computers of several pop stars besides Madonna.
