Madras High Court to get three new judges

The Madras High Court is all set to get three new judges with the Union Law Ministry today clearing another three names for appointment.

R M T Teekaaraman, a member secretary of Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority; N Sathish Kumar, Registrar General of Madras High Court; and N Seshasayee, Principal district Judge of Salem would be the new judges, high court sources said.

The names of all three judicial members have been sought by the ministry, to be signed in Devanagiri, which is mandatory before getting appointment.

The warrant of appointment by the President is expected in a day or two, the sources said.
 

With the appointment, the sitting strength of the high court judges will increase to 57 from the existing 54, as against the sanctioned strength of 75.
