Maggi samples to be tested in Indore

Amid raging controversy over Maggi noodles, Indore district administration has constituted four special groups to test samples of the popular snacks and noodles of other brands.

Four special probe teams comprising of revenue, drug, food and local civic body officials have been constituted to collect samples of Maggi along with noodles and pasta of other brands, an official release said today.

The teams will collect at least four samples everyday from different parts of the district and sent them for testing in designated laboratories. The drive will continue for next seven days, it said.

Yesterday, Delhi banned sale of Maggi for 15 days.
 

Uttarakhand, Gujarat and Jammu Kashmir have also banned sale Maggi following reports of it having high content of lead and monosodium glutamate (MSG).
