Magnitude-6.7 quake hits northern Argentina

A strong but deep earthquake has struck northern Argentina, but there are no immediate reports of damage.

The US Geological Survey says the magnitude-6.7 quake occurred at 3:57 pm and was centered 750 kilometers south-southeast of La Paz, Bolivia. It was centered about 190 kilometers below the surface.
