The main Opposition party passed three resolutions on the concluding day of its two-day State Executive Committee meeting that ended here in North Maharashtra.

The resolutions dealt with agriculture, political and education-related issues, Vinod Tawade, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council and BJP member, said at a press meet.

On its resolution on agriculture, the party said the Democratic Front Government has failed to accord top priority to the farm sector. No attempt had been made to improve farm activities and there was a lack of planning on part of the Government, it said.

In view of this, the BJP has decided to organise state -wide protests to draw the Government's attention to the problems being faced by the farmers, Tawade said.

The BJP was also critical of the administration on the law and order front. The law and order situation was far from satisfactory. Common man is feeling insecure and women-related crime is on the rise, the resolution said.

The third resolution said the Government's "mismanagement" extends to the education system also, affecting students and teachers alike.

The BJP will aggressively highlight issues related to corruption, "illegal" recovery at toll nakas (check posts) and activities of sand mafia, among other things, and will launch agitations on these matters, Tawade maintained.

Senior BJP leaders Eknath Khadse and Sudhir Mungantiwar, among others, attended the meet.
