The Maharashtra cabinet today approved implementation of the Centre's Shyama Prasad Mukherji RURBAN Mission, which is modelled on the best practices of PURA (providing urban amenities in rural areas) scheme.
Village groups in 99 tehsils of 28 districts in Maharashtra will be selected for implementation of the Mission, an official said, after the cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The Mission will deal with issues like agricultural development, skill development, agro processing, storage and mobile health units, liquid waste management.

The raise will benefit 2721 resident doctors and would be applicable with retrospective effect from August 2015. The decision would cost the government Rs 16.22 crore.
The government has also decided to implement the Decentralized Procurement Scheme for paddy from the 2016-17 rabi and kharif season.
