Maha CM asks parties to work for betterment of common man

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today asked political parties to "discuss and take effective decisions for the betterment of common man".

"I appeal for cooperation of all political parties to discuss and take effective decisions for the betterment of common man," Fadnavis said at an all-party meeting here ahead of the Budget session of Maharashtra legislature, scheduled to begin from tomorrow.

The meeting convened by Legislative Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde and Legislative Council Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar, was attended by ministers Eknath Khadse, Girish Bapat, Chandrakant Patil, Diwakar Raote, Eknath Shinde and Vijay Shivtare.

Leaders of Opposition Dhananjay Munde and Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil along with Prithviraj Chavan, Ajit Pawar, Dilip Walse Patil, Jayant Patil, Ganpatrao Deshmukh, Jogendra Kawade and Manikrao Thakre were also present.
 

"This is the first time that such an all-party meeting was held for smooth functioning of both the Houses of Maharashtra," Fadnavis tweeted.
