The Congress in Maharashtra has organised a 'morcha' in Nagpur on December 8 to protest against the functioning of the BJP-Shiv Sena government.

They will protest against issues like farmers suicides, agrarian crisis, law and order and financial situation of the state among others.

The Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature begins on December 7 in Nagpur.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Ashok Chavan told reporters today that the 'morcha' has been organised on the second day of the winter session of the state Legislature.

He said all leaders of the party from Maharashtra, workers along with citizens and farmers will participate in the 'morcha'.

"There have been around 3,000 suicides of farmers. Recently, a Central team had to face stiff resistance from locals when they visited Marathwada (a region affected by drought).

"There has been no financial assistance or package from the Centre. The state government has refused to accept the demand for complete loan waiver for farmers," Chavan, a former Maharashtra Chief Minister, said.

He said the dal prices have not come down.

"The state's financial situation is such that after a few months, the government will not have money to pay salaries of its employees," he alleged.
