This was announced by MPCC president Manikrao Thakre at a meeting of party Jansevaks who have been appointed for the execution of Central and state flagship programmes, at the state Congress headquarters in central Mumbai today.
AICC in-charge for Maharashtra, Mohan Prakash and Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan were present on the occasion.
Thakre demanded that all the Jansevaks be made SEOs and all district presidents of the flagship programmes be nominated to the district planning committee.
He expressed satisfaction over the new Jan Vikas Sampark Abhiyaan of the state unit.
At yesterday's meeting of ministers, directions were given to invite Jansevaks to the block level meetings, he said.
Chavan said it is important to have a system to take the programmes of Central and state governments to the grass root level, adding that there are a lot of expectations from the Jansevaks to help and work as guide and friend of the poor and helpless people.
"There are a few programmes which were ignored earlier, like MNREGA in which we were continuously getting less funding compared to states like Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh," MPCC spokesperson Sachin Sawant quoted Chavan as saying. (More)
