Maha Council pays tribute to Deora, Antulay

The Maharashtra Legislative Council today paid tributes to its departed leaders after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tabled the condolence resolution.

The resolution was passed in view of the demise of former State Chief minister AR Antulay, former Union Minister Murli Deora and former Council chairperson Bhaskar.

After Fadnavis briefed the House about the contribution of these late leaders, the chairperson opened the resolution for discussion.

MLC Sunil Tatkare, Jayant Patil, Kapil Patil, Diwakar Raote, Bhai Jagtap, Jogendra Kaawade, Anil Tatkare, Anand Patil, Vasantrao Dawkhare participated in the discussion and paid their tributes to the leaders followed by Chairperson Shivajirao Deshmukh.
 

Some of the members demanded that government should should build a memorial cum academy in the name of Antulay.

Earlier, as the House assembled, Congress' Manikrao Thakre demanded a debate on the farmers issue under section of 289 but members of the ruling party as well as the chairperson made it clear that only condolence resolution will be taken up today.

Later, the House was adjourned for the half an hour. When the House assembled, Fadnavis introduced his newly appointed cabinet ministers and state ministers.
