Maha: GMR Warora Energy installs water ATMs in Chandrapur dist

GMR Warora Energy Limited (GWEL) today installed Water ATMs to serve round-the-clock clean and safe drinking water to the residents of six villages of Warora in Chandrapur district.

GWEL, a subsidiary of GMR Energy, through its CSR arm, has installed water ATMs at six villages, a company release said today.

These villages are Charurkhati, Chinora, Chikni, Dongargaon (Rly), Dahegaon, Nimsada and Majara (Rai).

A total of 11,000 villagers will be benefited under this project, which was inaugurated today by Union Minister of State for Chemical & Fertiliser, Hansraj Ahir, at Dahegaon in the presence of GMR Energy President Sanjay Barde, it added.
 

"Providing pure drinking water to villagers is like worship to God and GMR has taken the initiative by putting RO water ATM in six villages," Ahir said.

The villagers are being provided with Water ATM Cards which they can recharge by paying cash. By using the cards they can get pure and safe drinking water from the water ATMs on 24X7 basis to a maximum limit of 15 liters/ day.

Water will be charged at 30 paisa per liter which is affordable for the villagers, it added.
