Maha Governor meets Ugandan Prime Minister

Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao today received the Prime Minister of Uganda Ruhakana Rugunda and his delegation at Raj Bhavan here.

The Ugandan Prime Minister is on a 3-day visit to the megapolis from March 7 to 9.

Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda stated that there are 27,000 people of Indian origin making handsome contribution to the economy of Uganda.

He told the Governor that Uganda is keen to enhance its cooperation with India in the areas of oil exploration, energy, tourism, education and healthcare, trade and commerce and others, according to a press release issued by Raj Bhawan.

Welcoming the Ugandan Prime Minister to Maharashtra, the Governor stressed the need for increasing educational cooperation and business delegation visits between India and Uganda, it said.
 

Honorary Consul General of Uganda in Mumbai Madhusudan Agrawal was also present, said the release.
