Maharashtra Government has asked its officials on election duty to accept the nomination forms of candidates on October 29 which has been declared a holiday in some districts of the State.
As many as 212 Nagar Parishads (Municipal Councils) and Nagar Panchayats, spread over 25 districts, will go to polls between November and January.
The last date for submission of nominations for Nagar Parishad elections is October 29, which has been declared a holiday in some poll-bound districts.
Such local holidays are not general holidays. Hence, designated election officers will have to be present at their respective offices on October 29 to accept nomination forms, an official statement said here today.
