Maha govt considering to amend law to ban chewing tobacco in

Maharashtra government is considering amending law to impose a ban on chewing tobacco in public places.

"We are considering amending the law to enforce a total ban on chewing tobacco in public places," Maharashtra Health Minister Deepak Sawant today said.

Sawant was speaking after inaugurating a new hospital facility of Patni Group here.

The Minister said the BJP-Shiv Sena was continuing all previous health schemes targeted at the BPL families.

Thane Guardian Minister Ekanth Shinde and local MP Rajan Vichare, among others, were also present on the occasion.
