Home Minister R R Patil told the Legislative Assembly that concerned over the growing Naxal menace in Gadchiroli district, the government wants to wean away unemployed youth from Naxalism.
"The government will give priority to local youth in jobs and is planning to set up a recruitment board for the same purpose," he added.
He said that Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar would hold a meeting on the employment opportunities and development works in the district soon.
Talking about the disproportionate assets case of Raigad Deputy Collector Nitesh Thakur, Patil said that investigations into the case would take another three months to complete.
Replying to supplementaries during the question hour, Patil said the investigation was detailed and complex and his transactions from 2007 to 2009 needed to be checked.
He said the process was on to cancel his bail.
