The Maharashtra government has planned to open seven CBSE schools near power plants for the children of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) employees, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said.
Fadnavis made the announcement yesterday at the foundation stone-laying function of a school at Koradi temple township, about 10 km from here.
The Chief Minister said 60 per cent seats of the proposed schools would be reserved for wards of Mahagenco employees and students from nearby villages.
Maharashtra Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who was also present, announced that a tourist attraction-cum-watersports centre is to come up on the Nagpur-Bhopal-Chhindwara road at a cost of Rs 600 crore.
