Maha govt to take up desilting of dams & reservoirs

The Maharashtra government will implement a scheme for desilting of dams and water reservoirs to increase their water storage capacity.

A decision to this effect was taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here today.

An official in the Chief Minister's office said the silt removed from the dams and water reservoirs will be put in agriculture farms. The cabinet approved a policy regarding this.
