Employees of the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) have threatened to go on indefinite strike from December 7, accusing the government of ignoring their demands.
"The union of MJP employees will resort to indefinite strike from Monday if government fails to attend to our demands," said member of MJP central working committee, Anand Bhaldhare.
Bhaldhare and other office-bearers alleged that the government has been deliberately ignoring their demands comprising hike in pay-scale, allowances and pension benefits on par with employees of state government.
MJP was carved out form Maharashtra Water Supply and Sewage Board for Urban and Rural Water Supply in 1995.
