Earlier today, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said outside the Vidhan Bhawan that the government agreed to table a condolence motion for Pansare after the Opposition insisted on it.
Vikhe-Patil thanked Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde for accepting the Opposition's request.
"At the House business advisory Committee meeting last month, our demand for the motion was rejected on the pretext that Pansare wasn't a member of the Legislature," Vikhe-Patil said.
"In a letter to the Speaker, I had pointed out that till December 2014, condolence motions for 60 personalities who were never members of the House were tabled," he said.
The personalities included late Bal Thackeray, Dhirubhai Ambani and Nelson Mandela, he said.
