Eight Maharashtra Lok Sabha MPs Monday participated in Western Railway's divisional committee meeting to take stock of projects currently underway.
A senior official said that MPs Arvind Sawant, Gajanan Kirtikar, Gopal Shetty, A T Nana Patil, Nathubhai Patel, Rahul Shewale, Rajan Vichare and Rajendra Gavit took part in the meeting organised by WR general manager A K Gupta.
"The MPs reviewed projects taken up in the last four years and expressed concerns over inordinate delay in the completion of projects. They gave suggestions to increase the speed of work. They asked WR to initiate works on development of stations," the official said.
When contacted, Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant said that he was not happy with the railways which he claimed "lacked will power".
"Even those works which were started from my MP fund have not been completed. What can I say about other projects? I raised several passenger-friendly issues with WR and railway board but most of them were not heard. There is complete lack of will power," Sawant said.
