A 34-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and two minor daughters and then committed suicide in Maharashtra's Aurangabad district, police said today.

Police said that Krushna Deore first killed his wife Shivkanya (28) by hitting her on the head with a blunt object and then strangulated his daughters Sarwada (9) and Hindvi (6) before hanging himself.

The incident, which occurred in Pimpri Satala village of Phulambri tehsil here, came to light in the morning today, said a Wadod Nagar police station official.

A team led by Superintendent of Police Arti Singh and comprising assistant inspector Archana Patil and other personnel rushed to the spot and started a probe, the official said.

Patil said that a note had been found at the spot, purportedly written by Deore, which read "do not break open the door until police arrives".

An official said that the couple reportedly had frequent quarrels and had just started staying together recently after living separately for over two years.
