The BJP will hold a one-day hunger strike in Aurangabad in Maharashtra on January 27 to attract the attention of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government to problems plaguing Marathwada, a party functionary said.
Former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, state unit chief Chandrakant Patil, Union minister Roasaheb Danve, former minister Pankaja Munde and Haribhau Bagade will be part of the protest, party spokesperson Shirish Boralkar told reporters.
"We demand additional funds to complete irrigation projects, speeding up of work on the water grid project and pipeline scheme for Aurangabad city," he said.
The hunger strike will take place at the divisional commissioner's office between 10am and 5pm, he added.
