Maha Oppn leader demands ban on tobacco, writes to CM

Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde today met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and demanded a ban on tobacco.

Munde met the chief minister and submitted a letter to him.

Maharashtra has a large number of cancer patients and tobacco consumption is the chief cause in many of the cancer cases, he said, adding, Maharashtra government should impose a ban on tobacco.

Due to availability of tobacco near schools and colleges, there is a danger of the young generation falling prey to tobacco menace, he added.
