Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil today organised a customary dinner for the BJP MLAs here which was attended by the members of the outfits like MNS and AIMIM, except Shiv Sena.

No MLA or minister from Sena, which has been at the loggerheads with the senior alliance partner BJP, was invited for the dinner.

On the other hand, the MLAs of Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) turned up at the banquet.

The ties between the Sena and the BJP continue to remain frosty though the BJP-led NDA government in Maharashtra will be completing its half-term at the end of Budget session on April 7.

Meanwhile, in a sign of growing thaw in ties, the leaders of the Congress and the NCP mingled with one another at the event.

Remarkably, the Congress and the NCP had called off their alliance of 15 years ahead of elections in 2014.

In a joint statement, Congress and NCP today declared that they want a complete loan waiver for farmers.

"The state government can restrict its expenses and generate new sources of income, but loan waiver must be granted," it stated.
