Maha: State-owned bodies, local bodies to remain open till

To avoid inconvenience to the public, the Maharashtra government has asked state-owned enterprises and local bodies to remain open till midnight tomorrow, to accept bills and arrears in old demonetised notes.

The Urban Development Ministry issued a Government Resolution to this effect.

The amount may be accepted only from concerned individual or individual entity against whom the dues exist, it added.

A third party may also deposit the dues subject to an authorisation given by those against whom the dues exist, said the GR.

In such cases, the tenderer will also be required to submit valid proof of identity.

Municipal Corporations, Nagpur Improvement Trust, Pimpri-Chinchwad Navnagar Development Authority, BEST, Municipal Councils, Nagar panchayats will accept the old denomination notes for payment of taxes and arrears.
 

The GR said the bills should be dated before November 8.

The amount mentioned in the bill of property tax, water bill will only be accepted.

The amount should not be disputed or deposited under protest. The amount deposited in such a manner will be non- refundable.

All government offices have been asked to remain open till midnight tomorrow and officers and staff should be appointed appropriately on shift duty, the GR said.
