Vignesh Sanghvi Monday dropped the first frame but bounced back in style to overcome Gaurav Patange 3-1 in a best-of-5-frame Group-H round-robin league match of the Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-1) Championship 2018 being played at the Poona Club.

Patange put a strong fighting performance and started positively to pocket the opening frame against Sanghvi in the first match of the group.

However, Sanghvi, a former Maharashtra junior number one ranked player in both billiards and snooker, quickly started to build on the opportunities to make small decent breaks and stay in control as he went on to win the next three frames by close margin.

His efforts helped to complete a satisfying 49-62, 70-51, 64-57 and 60-36 victory.

Mumbais Mayank Bhavsar made a bright start defeating Punes Siddharth Tembe 3-0 in a Group-D match.

Bhavsar after some initial resistance easily sailed through winning at 59-35, 77-18 and 72-12.
