Maharashtra Government is planning to undertake the "resource-based development" in Sindhudurg and Chandrapur districts to increase the per capita income of the residents by 100 per cent in next five years.
"The motive behind the resource-based projects is to increase per capita income by hundred per cent in next five years in Sindhudurg and Chandrapur districts," Maharashtra Minister of State for Finance, Deepak Kesarkar told PTI after holding a meeting with Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
He said the government is mainly focussed on livelihood aspect to boost the income of the people from both districts.

Maharashtra wants Goa to have common infrastructure in the fields of fisheries, agriculture and sustainable mineral development, he said.
"Sindhudurg district and Goa are very close. What I suggested to Goa Chief Minister that we can develop some common infrastructure.
"If we want to develop crab farming in this area, which has export potential, we can have a common hatchery for Goa and Sindhudurg," Kesarkar said.
On aquaculture facility, he said that such a facility has been currently provided from Tamil Nadu which is far off.
The minister said they are working out on implementing the exact model for both the States.
"We have just exchanged the idea. He (Goa CM) was also interested. We have identified agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, sustainable mineral development as focus areas," he said.
Kesarkar said that Sindhudurg has 48 per cent green cover which has to be sustained.
"When we think about minerals, we only think about iron ore. We have to change this mind set. There are minor minerals like silica which can be used for glass factories. We can use china clay for pottery industry," the minister said, adding that they can work together as the resources are common between Goa and Sindhudurg.
