In order to prevent delays in disbursal of scholarship and education fees, the Maharashtra government will soon introduce a bill for regulating the same.
On the issue of delay in scholarship fee of SC, ST, VJNT and OBC students in government medical colleges and hospitals, Education Minister Vinod Tawde told the Legislative Assembly during the Question Hour that action would be taken against officials responsible for it.
He said the process of taking action against the guilty would be completed by the end of next month.

He said the scholarship and education fees for 2014-15 would be paid by this month end.
The minister was reacting to a suggestion of Ajit Pawar (NCP) that only first two children in the beneficiary family should get facility of scholarship and education fees from the government.
Tawde also said provision of Rs 30.50 crore has been made in the supplementary demands to disburse arrears of last three years for economically backward class students.
