Maharashtra Government has decided to create a special post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) to tackle economic offences in 32 districts of the state.
According to a recent Government Resolution (GR), officials for this purpose will be drawn from various departments of Maharashtra Police where there is more manpower than required.
Thane rural district has a deputy SP post for dealing with economic offences, while there is no requirement of such a post in Gadchiroli district as there are fewer cases related to economic offence.
